The Nieves Group and Axoil, in their fight against inequalities in the Third World, actively collaborate with the La Caixa Foundation.
The La Caixa Foundation created the Alliance in 2008, together with Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, with the aim of offering Spanish companies, as part of their social responsibility, the opportunity to collaborate in Gavi's project to fight against infant mortality.
Gradually, the initiative was also opened up to customers, CaixaBank Group employees and all those who want to help protect the health of the very young. Since its inception in 2000, Gavi has helped vaccinate more than 888 million children in the world's 73 poorest countries, helping to prevent more than 15 million future deaths. The Alliance for Childhood Vaccination has the commitment of the "la Caixa" Foundation and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to quadruple every donation received, thus redoubling everyone's efforts to ensure the health and growth of children. The Barcelona Institute for Global Health — ISGlobal — is a scientific and academic partner of this Alliance.
Our contribution will be used to distribute pneumococcal vaccines in Mozambique and Ethiopia to prevent pneumonia, the largest cause of infant mortality from infectious disease globally.
